Hello Citizens,
Contrary to popular bar chatter and conspiracy-ridden LifeInvader posts, your tax dollars aren’t just disappearing into thin air. The Los Santos Government is proud to report on how recent public funds have been used to directly support events that build community, promote mental health wellness, and celebrate the city’s vibrant diversity.
Here’s what we’ve been funding lately:
Fully Funded: Spectrum Pride Parade
Downtown turned technicolor this month as the Spectrum Pride Parade rolled through with full support from the city. Government funding covered event permits, road closures, security details, and infrastructure; ensuring a safe and spectacular celebration of LGBTQ+ identity, unity, and pride across Los Santos.
Heavily Funded: Vanilla Unicorn Pride Event
Yes, that Vanilla Unicorn. Pride comes in all forms, and the government proudly supported their independently organized Pride Night. While the club took charge of the entertainment, public funds helped cover safety coordination, promotional outreach, and community engagement. The government also allocated a substantial amount specifically to provide free drinks for attendees, helping set the tone for a fun and inclusive night. The event also provided Governor Jamie Lawson with an opportunity to connect directly with citizens and listen to their concerns in a more casual and approachable environment.
Supported: Men’s Mental Health Event + Vehicle Giveaway
Men’s mental health matters; that’s why we partnered with event organizers to sponsor the vehicle giveaway portion of the recent Men’s Mental Health Awareness event. By helping provide wheels to those in need, and opening up space for real conversations, we’re driving both literal and emotional mobility.
