Governor Lawson Approves Return of Private Legal Practice
At the start of 2025, the Department of Justice banned private attorneys from operating due to staffing shortages and a decline in activity. In a recent policy shift, the State Governor has directed the San Andreas Bar Association to reinstate private practice under certain conditions.
The Governor now allows any state resident to become a private attorney, provided they pass the San Andreas Bar Exam and follow the Code of Ethics throughout their certification.
Governor Jamie Lawson stated, “It is essential that our citizens have access to legal defense in court. Requiring all attorneys to be state-employed has limited the availability of legal support. By permitting private practice, we’re expanding the options for legal representation for all.”
Citizens interested in becoming private attorneys are encouraged to submit their bar exam as soon as possible.
